Why Choose SERVPRO Richland County? SERVPRO Richland County work van at facility.

Why should you choose SERVPRO of Richland County for your cleanup, mitigation, and restoration? We could go on and on about how we’re the best choice for you. However, we’ll let people just like you- perhaps even your neighbor- speak for themselves about their own unique situation.

Water Damage

"I can't say enough good things about these people. They stand behind their work and do what they say they will do. Ask yourself: How many people can you say that about?"

"SERVPRO of Richland County is AMAZING!!. We had a water leak with some pretty extensive damage. The crew came in and removed all damaged materials. They dried out our house, leaving it ready for repair. They were professional, quick and always on time. A very knowledgeable crew, to add Troy and Peter provided outstanding support. I highly recommend this company..."

Fire Damage

"Responded almost immediately, kept me in the loop throughout the whole process, worked all through the night to make sure we could conduct business as usual the next day. Definitely would recommend their services."

Mold

"We are so grateful for the opportunity to support local small business and SERVPRO did not disappoint. They were so nice and helpful when scheduling. They were running ahead of schedule the day of service and made sure to call ahead. We have almost 20 year old tile that needed freshening up and it looks practically new again! They even cleaned our fiberglass tub in the bathroom that was not included as part of the “tile and grout” cleaning. My only regret is that we didn’t call sooner to get this done. We are so pleased and would recommend to anyone!"

Sewage Leak

We had a broken pipe leak underneath our crawl space of our home. We call SERVPRO and Joey Corley, Crew Chief responded to our home within 2hr. Very professional hook a sump pump to get rid of water and after that he used these fans to dry out the crawl space. My husband and I was definitely appreciative of the quality work that was done"

Call SERVPRO When Dealing With A Fire In Your Home or Business

7/2/2021 (Permalink)

SERVPRO is your number one resource when dealing with a fire in your home or business.

Suffering fire damages at your home can be a very traumatic experience.  Along with the damages from the flames, your home may have soot residue, smoke odor, and water damages from firefighting efforts.  Many times, the hardest part of the experience is determining “What do I do now?” once the fire is out.  The U.S Fire Administration offers these “After the Fire” guidelines to help you through this tough time:

  • The top priority is keeping yourself, loved ones, and pets safe. The structure of your home may be unstable, or various hazards present due to the fire damages.  Always follow the instructions of the local authorities pertaining to safety in a fire damaged area.
  • Contact your insurance agent. Your insurance agent can help determine what your policy covers regarding cleaning and restoration.
  • Contact your mortgage company or landlord to report the fire.
  • Secure important documents. If undamaged, gather items such as Social Security Information, Birth Certificates, and Passports.  If these items have been damaged, you will need to formulate a plan for replacement.

In the unfortunate event that you experience a fire at your home in the Columbia area, SERVPRO of Richland County is Here to Help. Our professional team provides fire restoration services, soot clean up, smoke odor removal, and structural drying to help restore your home.  Give us a call at (803) 419-0470, We are Faster to Any Size Disaster.

Mold Should Be Taken Seriously Call SERVPRO If You Suspect Mold

7/2/2021 (Permalink)

If you have a musty odor, or see spots on the walls or ceiling call SERVPRO for a Mold Evaluation

Microscopic mold spores are everywhere, both indoors, and outdoors. This makes it impossible to remove all mold from a home or business. Therefore, mold remediation reduces the mold spore count back to its natural or baseline level. Some restoration businesses advertise “mold removal” and even guarantee to remove all mold, which is a fallacy. Consider the following mold facts:

  • Mold is present almost everywhere, indoors, and outdoors.
  • Mold spores are microscopic and float along in the air and may enter your home through windows, doors, or AC/heating systems, or even hitch a ride indoors on your clothing, or pet.
  • Mold spores thrive on moisture and the spores can quickly grow into colonies when exposed to water. These colonies may produce allergens and irritants.
  • Before mold remediation can begin, any source of water or moisture must be addressed. Otherwise, the mold may return.
  • Mold often produces a strong, musty odor and can lead you to possible mold problem areas.
  • Even higher-than-normal indoor humidity can support mold growth. Keep indoor humidity below 45 percent.

We can inspect and assess your home or business utilizing our specialized equipment to remediate your mold infestation.

At SERVPRO we want your home or business to get back to “Like it never even happened.”

We always recommend calling a professional fire restoration service to handle this. SERVPRO of Richland County offers board-up services to secure your property and keep unwanted guests and animals out. We also offer tarping services if damage has occurred to the roof. This prevents water from gaining access to the space and causing further damage.

SERVPRO Recommends You Contact Your Insurance Agent To Confirm Coverage

6/28/2021 (Permalink)

Whether it is residential, or commercial it is crucial that you make sure you have the proper insurance coverage

If your home fell victim to a major disaster tomorrow, would your insurance cover the damages? Homeowners insurance may help cover certain causes of storm damage, including wind, hail and lightning. However, damage caused by flood and catastrophic storms are typically not covered by a standard homeowners insurance policy. It's important to read your policy to learn what types of storm damage may or may not be covered.

When purchasing a new home policy, it's important to consider the geographic location, weather patterns and flood risk assessments of the area your property is located in. You might perceive additional coverage as an unnecessary cost but consider the cost to rebuild or repair out of pocket. SERVPRO bases its pricing off national average or market rates, you’ll be thankful you spent the extra funds on these types of coverages rather than having to pay out of pocket. Take the time now to make sure you are prepared for whatever may happen, instead of finding out you’re not covered in the middle of a disaster.

SERVPRO is Here to Help get you back to “Like it never even happened.”

Proper Maintenance Of Water Lines And Water Storage Units Can Help Avoid A Water Loss

5/25/2021 (Permalink)

Avoid water damage by checking your water lines and water holding units on a regular basis.

Improperly maintained water lines, and water storage units, such as a hot water heater. Once there is a compromise to the water system, or storage unit the ensuing water can cause water damage, and potentially turn into an emergency.

First the home or business with the water damage must quickly be evaluated for the safety of anyone in the home, or business. Be sure there is nothing electric in, or around the water damage to cause either an electrical fire, or electrocution. Make sure there are no ‘slip and fall’ hazards. If it is not safe, keep out and dial 911 for help. Once all is secure regarding safety precautions, shut off the water if you can.

SERVPRO Technicians Are Highly Trained For Removal Of Smoke Soot and Fire Damage

5/12/2021 (Permalink)

We have the equipment, expertise, and experience to restore your fire and smoke damage.

Smoke and soot is very invasive and can penetrate various cavities within your home, causing hidden damage and odor. Our smoke damage expertise and experience allow us to inspect and accurately assess the extent of the damage to develop a comprehensive plan of action.

Smoke and soot facts:

  • Hot smoke migrates to cooler areas and upper levels of a structure.
  • Smoke flows around plumbing systems, seeping through the holes used by pipes to go from floor to floor.
  • The type of smoke may greatly affect the restoration process.

Different Types of Smoke

There are two different types of smoke–wet and dry. As a result, there are different types of soot residue after a fire. Before restoration begins, SERVPRO of Richland County will test the soot to determine which type of smoke damage occurred. The cleaning procedures will then be based on the information identified during pretesting. Here is some additional information:

Wet Smoke – Plastic and Rubber

  • Low heat, smoldering, pungent odor, sticky, smeary. Smoke webs are more difficult to clean.

Dry Smoke – Paper and Wood

  • Fast burning, high temperatures, heat rises therefore smoke rises.

Protein Fire Residue – Produced by evaporation of material rather than from a fire.

  • Virtually invisible, discolors paints and varnishes, extreme pungent odor.

Our Fire Damage Restoration Services

Since each smoke and fire damage situation is a little different, each one requires a unique solution tailored for the specific conditions.  We have the equipment, expertise, and experience to restore your fire and smoke damage.  We will also treat your family with empathy and respect and your property with care.

We can help!

7/27/2020 (Permalink)

COVID-19 has been an unprecedented experience for most business owners. Almost no one expected at the beginning of the year that we would have to shut our doors and go virtual for three to four months. For some of us, this was an easier prospect than for others.

Those who already had a strong online presence were hurt far less than those whose services require person-to-person interaction. As we try to recover, we must admit that the pandemic has not been beaten yet. Unlike in a movie, there was no press conference announcing a cure and no all-clear announcement. We have to adapt to a new normal.

Going forward, businesses will have to plan for the ebb and flow of the COVID-19 rates in our community the way we do for other natural disasters and events that are beyond our control.

Do you have a plan for reassuring customers that their safety is your top priority? How can you communicate this? When a customer walks through your door and is greeted by a cheerful, but mask-covered smile, it tells them that you care enough to put their safety over your comfort.

When you allow for social distancing either by providing online ordering options or by reducing the capacity of your building, it tells your customers that you put their safety over profits.

When you have a Certified: SERVPRO Cleaned sticker on your door, it shows your customers that you didn’t hire just any cleaning service, but that you cared enough to have a professional bioremediation consultation and the date that the cleaning was performed.

These small steps can keep your customers loyal through whatever may come over the next several months as we deal with our new normal.
